Introduction to PLC5s: Overview of Hardware, Software and Basic Instruction Sets

This forty-hour course provides a hands-on overview of the Allen-Bradley PLC5 programmable controller Hardware; Software and Basic Instruction sets. Extensive opportunities are provided for practice on PLC5 simulators with complete PLC5 software programs pre-loaded. Basic troubleshooting skills are also covered. (Customer may use own programs if desired).

After this class, participants will be able to:
  1. Recognize how the PLC5 software (RSLogix5™, AB6200 or ICOM) is used to interface with the PLC5 hardware and ladder logic programming

  2. Recognize how the PLC5 software uses Instruction sets

  3. Search to a specific address

  4. Insert, delete or alter instructions

  5. Save, store or print program modifications

  6. Perform a program backup

Familiarity with Ladder Logic, Numbering Systems basics, and possess good Windows Navigational Skills
