Automated Controls

This 40-hour course covers the Allen Bradley SLC500 hardware and RSLogix500™ software. It assumes a good working experience with the PLC-5 family of programmable controllers and does not review basics of programmable controllers. Other softwares such as Allen-Bradley APS or ICOM AI Series may be chosen in place of RSLogix500™.
A 24 hr version focusing on the RSLogix500™ software is available for users already familiar with SLC500 hardware & earlier versions of software.
Identify the hardware components of the SLC500 PLC
Configure and install a SLC500 PLC
Develop and interpret simple programs utilizing the SLC500 software and basic instruction sets available
Troubleshoot programs and isolate faults within the SLC500 system
Use peripheral devices to store, copy and print programs
Introduction to SLC500s; SLC500 Communications; good Windows skills
40 hours; 24 hr version available - RSLogix500™ software only
Up to 8 (six simulators per class)
