This forty-hour course is for advanced users who want to be able to develop & create SLC500 programs from scratch using the powerful features of the Allen-Bradley RSLogix500™ software. Advanced troubleshooting features of the software and use of Advanced Instructions Sets may also be included based on customer need. There are extensive exercises and opportunities for practice on SLC500 simulators. (It is strongly recommended that the Customer provide their use own sample programs to make this course most effective.)
Develop SLC500 programs from scratch using the RSLogix500™ software
Thoroughly document and backup newly designed programs
Recognize strengths & weaknesses of existing SLC500 programs and make corrections to improve them
Properly configure the RSLinx™ software to communicate on DH+
Properly configure an RSLogix500™ driver to communicate with RSLinx™
Configure the RSLogix500™ display screen using the Windows arrange, the maximize, minimize and restore buttons
Use the RSLogix500™ software to display a single ladder program or multiple ladder programs in multiple windows
Use the Project Tree window to display or configure: Controller Properties, Processor Status, Channel status, Ladder Program files, Cross Reference file, Data Table files, Force table files, Custom Data monitor screens and the Database Editor
Understand and utilize instruction sets as selected -
Relay type XIC, XIO, OTE, OTL, OTU, IIN, IOT
Timer and counters TON, TOF, CTU, CTD, RES
Compares CMP, EQU, GEQ, GRT, LEQ, CES, LIM, MEQ, NEQ
Computes CPT, ADD, AVE, CLR, DIV, MVC, NEG, SRT, SQR, STD, SUB
Logics and conversions AND, NOT, OR, XOR, FRD, TOD
Bit modify and file BTD, MOV, MVM, FAL, FSC, COP, FLL
Diagnostics FBC, DDT, DTR
Shift registers BSL, BSR, FFL, FFU, LFL, LFU
Program controls MCR, JMP, LBL, FOR, NXT, BRK, JSR, SBR, RET, TND, AFI, ONS, OSF, EOT
PID programming PID
Block transfers BTR, BTW
Message and ASCII instructions
Custom routines
Utilize various data types (BCD, BINARY, HEX, OCTAL, DECIMAL, INTEGER, ETC.)
Introduction to SLC500s; SLC500 Communications; good Windows skills
40 hours; 24 hr version available - RSLogix500™ software only
