Technical Train the Trainer

 

 

 

CBIL has observed a trend that companies are asking their technical staff to provide automated controls training for internal training programs rather than looking to outside vendors of training. While cost effective in some ways, the designated trainer often has little experience with preparing for and delivering complex technical subjects to participants with diverse backgrounds.

 

CBIL’s Technical Train the Trainer prepares the technician trainer to:
  • Identify participant entry levels relative to skills & knowledge needed in the business (skill gap identification)
  • Develop course materials and activities to achieve learning objectives of a given class (key instructional design skills)
  • Develop labs and simulations close to real business applications
  • Recognize diverse learning styles and how to teach to these
  • Plan for timing and sequencing of content to be delivered
  • Use adult learning principles in preparing for and delivering training
  • Develop assessments for spot checks within a class and to measure achievement outcomes for a complete class
  • Recognize four levels of evaluation and how to train for maximum transfer of learning to achieve business level results
  • Be able to self-assess his/her training development & delivery skills for on-going professional development planning
